Oxnard received it's name from the four Oxnard brothers who owned the sugar beet business there in the 1890's. Oxnard is a very livable city. The Henny T. Oxnard Historic District a five block area of "F" and "G" Streets, was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The 137 houses vary in size and in design, from late Victorian to Tudor revival and Prairie and Craftsman bungalow style. Today, these houses are wanted for their charm, warmth and livability.
