at the beaches of Silverstrand, Hollywood By-The-Sea, Hollywood Beach, and Oxnard Shores it is easy to tell which homes are oceanfront / beachfront. All houses that are in front have an "odd" house number (as in 2525) so that homes on the other side of the street are even number (as in 2524)

Oxnard Beachfront or Oceanfront means there are no homes between you and the sand or rocks which touches the surf. It also means that you are very close to the Ocean edge.
If you have ocean front property, no one can build in front of you. If you have a beach house you now may have a view overlooking a one story (older) ocean front house or vacant lot. But someday that house will be replaced with a 3 story home, and you will no longer have a great view.
In a Newspaper ad it can say "white water view" but the house maybe on the Ventura Hillside a half mile or more away. Or it can say "ocean view" and it may mean the home is on a Camarillo hillside ten miles from the sea. Or it can say waterfront home and mean a house at the harbor or at the beach.
