The beaches in Ventura, California are easily accessed from the city of Ventura. The beautiful beaches have some of the state's best surfing I am told. The view of the ocean from the Pierpont beach is spectacular especially at sunset.
Surrounding Ventura Harbor is the Ventura Harbor Village. Ventura Harbor Village features galleries, shops, and restaurants. There are also close-up views of the fishing boats, pleasure boats, yachts, and sailboats.
You can rent paddle boats, kayaks or sailboats or take a harbor cruise. Ventura Harbor is a departure point tor trips to the Channel Islands National Park For an overview of the Channel Islands visit the Robert J. Lagomarsino Visitor Center at the end of the harbor. From the tower at the visitor center there is a 360 degree view of the harbor, islands, Ventura and the mountains. You can go whale watching around the Channel Islands.
